Goodness of fit - the relationship between you and me, is important so I offer a free 20-min consultation via a secure on-line platform to assess this and ask you about your current challenges, goals, and what you would like to get from our time together.
Then, we’ll book one or a few sessions…
Typically, you should plan for about 6 - 12 sessions although for some this will be shorter or longer depending on your goals.
Counselling/Psychotherapy Session:
150$ per 50-minute session
I offer a sliding scale for those with financial need. Feel free to bring this up during the consultation.
Administrative Work (e.g., writing reports, copying files, etc.):
Prorated based on the session rate of
150$/50-minutes plus HST
I offer both in-person and virtual appointments. I use a secure on-line platform for booking consultations and sessions. The “Make Appointment” button will take you there and, if you’re a new client, you’ll be prompted to create an account and fill out a few forms including Informed Consent.
About Me
I completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University that consisted of coursework and a mandatory 8-month internship with weekly supervision. During this time, I accumulated > 200 hours of direct client contact (e.g., individual counselling). I am also a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and can practice the controlled act of psychotherapy.
In accordance with the Standards of Practice of the CRPO for Qualifying registrants, and as part of my professional development, I receive ongoing supervision from a small number of external supervisors, each with their unique specialty, in order to foster my growth as a therapist and ensure effective use-of-self.
In essence, supervision and effective use-of-self ensures better care and services for you.
I also have advanced (2nd and 3rd-cycle) degrees and expertise in neuroscience, biochemistry, pharmacology, and psychology. I worked as a researcher for over a decade prior to transitioning into the therapy sphere and have experience as a supervisor and teacher. It’s here that I learned, first hand, you get the best out of people by lifting them up, not putting them down and I strive to do this for my students and clients alike.
